Zimbabwe’s proposed 600MW Kariba Solar Park is targeting its first 150MW of electricity supply to the national grid by late 2027, with the necessary permits and approvals reportedly secured.

GreenGrid Kariba Solar Park director David Fussell told The Sunday Mail that the full 600MW capacity would be delivered in phases over several years.

The project is expected to help conserve water at Kariba Dam by supplying solar power during the day, reducing reliance on hydropower and preserving water for evening peak demand.
